Chipton-Ross is seeking a Nurse Practitioner 3 for a contract opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): 5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Masters or Doctoral Nursing Program Degree Nurse Practitioner License in the State of CA BLS Certification This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to support our Occupational Health Services department. The candidate should be experienced in occupational and environmental health services and able to assume overall responsibility for all OSHA program medical requirements (e.g. respiratory protection, hearing conservation, etc.). The position involves a focus on the protection of individuals from occupational and environmental hazards, illness and injury prevention, and health promotion. The Nurse Practitioner will follow laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employees and the environment. This position will serve on-site in Sunnyvale, CA. Respond to emergencies and administer first aid to employees for job related illnesses and injuries. Deliver OSHA required physicals and job/site/contract required surveillance program services (i.e. hearing conservation, respiratory protection, visual acuity, bloodborne pathogens, biological monitoring, etc.) to identified employee populations in collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety. Review and interpret external occupational health clinic results and reports, including history/physical, EKG, lab work, spirometry and audiograms. Maintain accurate recordkeeping in electronic medical records system (Cority) in compliance with OSHA requirements. Resource to nurses in First Aid treatment of employee injuries and illnesses including triage and disposition. Work with industrial toxicology and/or hygienists to recognize environmental factors and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers. The nurse practitioner will work to create preventative measures that ensure the health and safety of employees, Maintain compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing occupational health and safety for employees and the workplace. Serve as a resource to the W/C COE to maximize employee productivity and overall health and safety so that disability claims, on-the-job injury claims, and absenteeism are all greatly reduced. Partner with EAP, HR and Mgmt. and when required contact external providers to address health issues and concerns that impact the safety and ability to function for employees in the workplace. Oversee current medical practices relating to handling of hazardous materials or maintenance of health and safety standards (OSHA Programs). Partner with EHS to respond to unexpected exposures/hazards that occur in the workplace and to create preventative measures that ensure the health and safety of employees.
