Location: Appleton, WI | Pay Rate: $87.40/hour | Schedule: Full-Time, 1st Shift (6am - 4:30 pm)
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to identify an experienced Engineering Contractor with deep certification expertise. As an Engineering Contractor, you will play a critical role in preparing, managing, and delivering certification documentation for aircraft alterations and modifications. Your work will directly support regulatory approval processes, ensuring compliance, safety, and successful program execution. This position requires strong technical expertise, program coordination skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks with confidence.
Prepare and develop certification deliverables including:
Certification Plans
Requests for Conformity (RFC)
Means of Compliance documentation
Compliance Checklists
ICAs (Instructions for Continued Airworthiness)
Ground and Flight Test Plans
Project-Specific Certification Plans
Certification reports and related documentation
Coordinate certification programs for aircraft alterations and modifications
Review certification deliverables to validate compliance showings and 8100-9 findings
Ensure alignment between compliance checklists and regulatory requirements
Apply strong knowledge of FAA Part 21 certification procedures, particularly Part 25 transport category aircraft
Support new or amended Type Certification (TC) programs involving major type design changes
Contribute to Supplemental Type Certification (STC) projects
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges
Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities
Ensure all certification deliverables and schedules are achieved
Adhere to company safety rules, regulations, and policies in all daily activities
Support weekend or overtime work as required to meet program milestones
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical-related field applicable to the position, or equivalent combination of education and experience
10 years in a specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines with a Bachelor’s degree
Experience credit considered for advanced degrees (up to 2 years for Master’s; up to 4 years for PhD in applicable fields)
Certification experience in an STC environment
Strong understanding of FAA Part 21 certification procedures
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Experience with Part 25 transport category aircraft certification
Experience supporting new or amended Type Certification (TC) programs
Familiarity with EASA processes and CS-25 regulatory requirements (experience with other foreign authorities acceptable)
Advanced degree in Engineering or related discipline
Aerospace industry experience
Strong program management and cross-functional coordination skills
