Industrial Engineer
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a skilled Industrial Engineer for a 6-month full-time consulting assignment at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. As an Industrial Engineer, you will drive measurable improvements in manufacturing, engineering, and service operations. Through data-driven analysis, Lean methodologies, and advanced modeling tools, you’ll enhance schedule performance, reduce costs, and improve product quality—supporting complex systems integration in one of the most iconic aerospace environments in the world.
In this hands-on, high-visibility role, you will:
Apply advanced industrial engineering concepts, analysis, and decision tools to optimize operations
Conduct time studies and core IE tasks to improve productivity and throughput
Develop and manage models, databases, and spreadsheets for statistical and operational analysis
Provide summary metrics and performance insights to leadership, departments, and suppliers
Support product and process design teams throughout the product lifecycle
Lead Lean initiatives to enhance schedule performance, cost efficiency, and quality
Perform risk analysis using project management tools (WBS, precedence networks, resource allocation)
Manage project scope, cost, timing, and budget compliance independently
Utilize mathematical modeling, simulation, and statistical methods to design optimal processes
Analyze and design value streams, capacity planning, supplier performance, workflow logistics, and critical path schedules
Build forecasts, recovery plans, burndown reporting, and war room analytics
Location: Kennedy Space Center, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shifts Available:
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
(Must be flexible to work either shift)
Pay Range Starting at : $51.78 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field
ABET accreditation preferred (not required)
Typically 5+ years of related experience (or equivalent combination of advanced education and experience)
Advanced proficiency in:
Excel (data analysis, reporting, automation tools, dashboards)
MS Project
MES systems
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Experience with scheduling, forecasting, PNET, critical path, and recovery planning
Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and industrial engineering methodologies
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Background in large-scale systems integration or aerospace manufacturing environments
