Support Maintenance Engineer
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Support Engineering Support Maintenance Analyst to join our team in partnership with a leading aerospace innovator. In this highly impactful role, you’ll help ensure critical aircraft systems are maintainable, supportable, and ready for mission success.
As a key member of the System Support Engineering team, you will provide technical expertise that directly influences aircraft maintainability, support equipment readiness, and overall lifecycle performance. You will collaborate with Integrated Product Teams to ensure supportability is built into every stage of the design and sustainment process.
This is a full-time, 9?month consultant opportunity located onsite in Mesa, AZ on first shift (6:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday) with a competitive pay range starting at $54.43 per hour.
In this non-managerial, engineering-focused role, your responsibilities will include:
Lead Design for Supportability initiatives to optimize system maintainability and support equipment impacts.
Support the development of new support equipment, from concept through implementation.
Create, analyze, and manage Support Equipment Recommendation Data (SERD).
Contribute to facilities planning for maintenance and support operations.
Manage Depot Maintenance Plant Equipment (DMPE) to ensure mission readiness.
Oversee Ground Support Equipment (GSE) candidate lists to maintain alignment with program needs.
Serve as an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) representative within aircraft design IPTs.
Identify and document impacts to Support and Test Equipment (STE), including reusable containers, PGSE, CGSE, test equipment, and transportability requirements.
Recommend modifications or new support equipment when design changes require it.
Ensure compliance with System Performance Specification requirements related to support equipment.
Conduct engineering research, prepare documentation, and supply technical data supporting sustainment engineering infrastructure and processes.
Minimum 5 years of Army aviation experience.
Proficiency in one or more areas of sustainment engineering.
Strong fluency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Technical education and experience equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree + 9 years related experience, Master’s + 7 years, PhD + 4 years, or 13 years related experience through alternate pathways.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with military aircraft platforms such as AH?64 or AH?6i (legacy or new production).
Background in aircraft sustainment products and services.
Experience integrating technical data across multiple sustainment engineering teams.
Skilled in creating integrated plans and schedules.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles.
