As a Flight Deck Crew Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing runway safety and operational performance across commercial airplane programs. You will apply a collaborative, systems-based approach to develop innovative solutions that improve pilot operations and aircraft implementation. From defining functional requirements to analyzing pilot evaluation data, your work will directly influence safety, efficiency, and mission success for operators worldwide.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift (8:00 AM–4:00 PM)
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant | 12-Month Assignment
Pay Rate Starting at: $81.39 per hour
Work Environment: Onsite
In this role, you will:
Lead interdisciplinary efforts to plan, design, develop, and verify complex system-of-systems solutions.
Support projects focused on improving runway safety and advancing flight deck technologies.
Write and refine functional requirements and define operational concepts.
Perform functional hazard assessments and safety analyses.
Plan and execute pilot evaluations and analyze operational performance data.
Collaborate with pilots, avionics engineers, suppliers, and regulators to mature technologies for aircraft implementation.
Integrate technical parameters to ensure compatibility across system interfaces.
Optimize system architecture for safety, reliability, affordability, and regulatory compliance.
Guide requirements management, risk assessment, and technology readiness processes.
Drive continuous improvement and ensure mission success through lifecycle system engineering practices.
Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience, Master’s with 12+ years, or PhD with 9+ years in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related field.
Strong background in systems engineering, aviation, or flight deck operations.
Experience with safety and hazard analysis, operational evaluations, and data-driven decision-making.
Ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience in Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) systems.
Knowledge of aircraft certification and regulatory environments.
Familiarity with human systems integration and pilot-centered design.
Background in avionics or aerospace program development.
