Location: Savannah, GA | Pay Rate: $36.05/hour | Schedule: Full-Time, 2nd Shift (2pm – 12:30am)
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire an experienced Avionics/Electrical Technician. Position Summary
As an Avionics/Electrical Technician, you will provide advanced technical expertise in the operational and functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring aircraft meet the highest standards of safety, quality, performance, and on-time delivery.
You will also help drive process improvements that reduce cost and schedule impact—without ever compromising safety or quality.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Perform operational and functional testing of avionics and aircraft systems
Troubleshoot and repair complex system discrepancies to minimize schedule impact
Install and functionally test electrical and avionics components in accordance with engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals
Repair or replace defective components and wiring using approved techniques, including splicing, soldering, and pinning
Set up and operate required test equipment; conduct functional and operational performance evaluations
Oversee and ensure compliance with engineering changes and modifications
Maintain complete and accurate documentation and daily logs for all work performed
Pre-inspect work prior to formal inspection to reduce rework and inspection time
Provide technical guidance and teach installation and troubleshooting processes when required
Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests as needed
Enforce FOD, tool control, 5-S, and all safety regulations
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing production schedules
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field
Two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics may offset two years of required experience
Demonstrated expertise in avionics systems testing and troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
Strong working knowledge of wiring repair techniques and industry standards
Preferred Qualifications
A&P License
FCC License
NCATT Certification
Experience troubleshooting other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental systems, or structural installations and repairs
APU run qualification
Engine run qualification
Self-inspection capability for avionics testing functions
