Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant (9 Months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Pay Rate STarting at: $35.75 per hour
In this role, you’ll play a critical part in helping engineers, technicians, and maintenance teams succeed by creating accurate and visually compelling multimedia that supports troubleshooting, maintenance, and training. Your work will directly contribute to aircraft reliability, safety, and operational excellence across the aerospace industry.
As a Support Engineering Data Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Creating, modifying, and delivering technical illustrations, diagrams, full-color graphics, and 2D/3D animations for support engineering products and services.
Developing interactive electronic media to support troubleshooting, maintenance procedures, and training initiatives.
Analyzing engineering drawings, schematics, manuals, photographs, and SME input to validate and inform multimedia content.
Applying established illustration standards, templates, and style guides to ensure consistency and quality.
Maintaining, cataloging, and storing multimedia assets to support accessibility, reuse, and configuration management.
Supporting compliance reviews to ensure adherence to technical, regulatory, and company standards.
Performing quality checks to confirm visual accuracy, resolution, format, interactivity, and accessibility.
Troubleshooting and resolving designer-level technical challenges.
Collaborating with engineers, technical writers, training teams, and configuration management professionals.
Researching new tools, techniques, and best practices to improve workflows and innovation.
Providing guidance and mentorship to junior designers to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
We’re looking for professionals who bring both creativity and technical understanding:
2+ years of professional experience producing technical illustrations, animations, and interactive media.
2+ years of experience with aircraft maintenance and/or modifications.
2+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Proficiency in graphic art tools or equivalent to Graphic Art “BOGART.”
Strong problem-solving abilities with the confidence to address moderate-scope technical challenges.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet project milestones.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Stand out with these additional skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Technical Illustration, or related field—or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience supporting aerospace, defense, or complex engineering environments.
Familiarity with aerospace illustration standards such as S1000D or ATA iSpec 2200.
Experience converting 3D CAD models into visual and animation assets.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for automation.
Certifications related to technical illustration, design, or accessibility standards.
