Wiring Design Engineer

As a Wire Design & Install Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, integrating, and maintaining electrical systems across a wide range of commercial aircraft platforms. From retrofitting connectivity systems to developing modern cabin solutions, your work will ensure seamless electrical integration and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that keep fleets competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.
Location: Long Beach, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, First Shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12 months)
Pay Rate Starting at: $60.59 per hour
Design and develop electrical systems, including equipment racks, power panels, cable routing, and antenna configurations.
Create and maintain detailed designs for cable and wire harness assemblies.
Collaborate with customers and suppliers to define and document complex electrical system requirements.
Develop and maintain processes, specifications, and procedures supporting electrical design and manufacturing.
Review supplier technical data to ensure compliance and system integration.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for airlines and modification sites.
Work in an agile, multidisciplinary engineering environment to deliver innovative solutions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design quality, efficiency, and performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical or systems design.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical and technical data evaluation skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Experience with CAD/CAM tools, CATIA, Mentor Graphics, or Unigraphics.
Demonstrated engineering judgment and systems-thinking approach.
Knowledge of certification and qualification processes, including DO-160 and D6 requirements.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance and validation processes.
