Pay Rate Starting at : $55 - $75 (depending on experience)
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace innovator to hire a System Test & Evaluation Engineer supporting advanced space systems in El Segundo, CA. In this high-impact role, you will perform hardware and software verification testing on space systems and subsystems that support critical missions.
Your expertise will help ensure reliability, performance, and compliance before launch—playing a direct role in advancing next-generation space technology.
This is a fully onsite position supporting variable shifts to meet program objectives.
As a Test & Evaluation Engineer, you will support the development and execution of verification activities across complex space systems:
Develop and verify test methods aligned with program requirements.
Execute detailed test procedures, defining instrumentation and configurations to minimize risk within test plans.
Design test hardware, software, and systems to meet verification objectives.
Configure and operate specialized test equipment and instrumentation.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and electronic test anomalies.
Analyze, process, and format test data to meet customer requirements.
Review nominal and off-nominal data for accuracy, quality, and fidelity.
Prepare and publish comprehensive test reports documenting results.
Present findings internally to engineering and leadership teams.
Archive test data and documentation for compliance and traceability.
Develop solutions to calibration and test system issues of limited scope.
You will work under general direction from test leads while contributing technical insight and disciplined execution.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
3+ years of experience working with specialized test equipment and instrumentation using electrical engineering test methodologies.
3+ years of experience performing automated tests and troubleshooting electronics equipment, hardware, and software.
Experience with software tools based in C#.
Ability to support variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
5+ years of experience in a lab and/or production environment.
5+ years of experience with test instrumentation and test methods.
Active security clearance (strongly preferred).
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) with relevant engineering experience.
