PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace innovator to hire an Associate Software Engineer–Developer supporting a major avionics modernization program. This is a unique opportunity to work on embedded flight software for a historic military aircraft while developing your technical skills alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

In this role, your work will directly support mission-critical navigation and display systems—helping ensure safety, reliability, and performance for aerospace platforms that make a global impact.

What You’ll Do

As a key contributor to the Navigation and Displays team, you will:

• Assist with the design, development, testing, and maintenance of embedded software throughout the full lifecycle.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and translate system and customer requirements into software solutions.

• Support development, enhancement, and optimization of software products used in avionics and control systems.

• Contribute to system architecture, algorithms, interfaces, and technical documentation.

• Implement, test, and debug code to ensure reliable and efficient performance.

• Work with Agile teams to deliver high-quality software in a dynamic environment.

• Support integration, verification, and validation activities.

• Assist in the adoption of new technologies, tools, and frameworks.

• Help improve software processes, performance metrics, and development workflows.

• Contribute to research and development initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working across the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, integration, and testing.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

• Experience with Agile workflow tools such as VS Code and GitLab.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain regular, predictable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

• Experience developing embedded real-time software in C, C++, Java, Python, Rust, or Ada.

• Experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS).

• Familiarity with object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) methodologies.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts with diverse stakeholders and contribute to team success.
