Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)
Location: Long Beach, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate startong at : $84.56 per hour
Travel: Up to 10% (Domestic & International)
This is a non-managerial, non-leadership role requiring regular and predictable attendance.
As part of a Structures Stress Team supporting airplane production and post-production modifications, you will perform critical analyses that ensure aircraft meet structural integrity and regulatory compliance standards. Your work will directly influence safety, certification, and operational reliability across both primary and secondary aircraft structures.
From detailed stress analysis to regulatory coordination, your expertise will help maintain the structural backbone of modern aerospace platforms.
Perform detailed structural and stress analysis to determine margins of safety using classical methods and engineering tools
Support production activities, service bulletin development, customer inquiries, and failure investigations
Provide structural guidance during design and configuration development
Conduct trade studies to optimize structural solutions while meeting program requirements
Integrate component-level structural models and perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate internal loads and stresses
Document structural analyses to demonstrate compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements
Participate in resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams
Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline (ABET preferred, though not required)
5+ years of experience in Stress Analysis/Structural Analysis
3+ years of experience performing classical hand calculations and using FEA software
Experience with aerospace structural analysis tools, processes, and procedures
Experience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education and typically 9+ years of related work experience (e.g., Master’s + 7 years, PhD + 4 years, or equivalent combination)
5+ years of related aerospace structural analysis experience
2+ years leading or mentoring structural analysts and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
2+ years of experience supporting 787 primary structural analysis programs
