PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Inspector to support aerospace manufacturing quality operations. In this role, you’ll be a critical gatekeeper—ensuring products meet exacting industry and customer standards through precise inspections, thorough documentation, and expert execution of First Article Inspections (FAIs).

Your work directly impacts product integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer confidence in a highly regulated aerospace environment.

What You’ll Do Day to Day

As an Inspector, your responsibilities will include:

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and Delta FAIs in accordance with AS9102 requirements

• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections per Job Instruction Sheets

• Create, review, and validate FAI documentation for completeness and accuracy

• Balloon engineering drawings to support FAI completion

• Interpret WHMA, IPC, and applicable aerospace specifications

• Use and maintain inspection tools and gages including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other precision equipment

• Stamp and complete quality documentation in compliance with procedures

• Communicate inspection status and FAI results across all levels of the organization

• Meet with customers (on-site or virtual) to explain FAIs when required

• Maintain and improve 5S standards in workstations and assigned areas

• Adhere to all EH&S policies and quality guidelines

• Support continuous improvement and quality system compliance

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience creating, performing, and reviewing FAIs

• Strong knowledge of AS9102, WHMA, and IPC specifications

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, including GD&T

• Proficiency with precision inspection tools and test equipment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Ability to document findings clearly and raise simple quality reports

• Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and customers
  
  This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)

• Understanding of CORE quality tools

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments
