Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Pay Rate Starting at : $48.30 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a motivated Flight Deck Design Engineer to support the development of next-generation commercial aircraft cockpits. In this role, you’ll help define the flight deck environment from early design through certification, production support, and in-service improvements—directly influencing pilot experience, aircraft safety, and operational efficiency.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including pilots, flight operations, manufacturing, suppliers, and regulatory partners to deliver best-in-class flight deck solutions.
As a Flight Deck Design Engineer, you will:
Lead component and detail design efforts for complex mechanical and electrical flight deck systems
Develop and document system requirements, specifications, and design solutions using model-based engineering tools
Translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications
Create and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Specification Control Documents/Drawings (SCDs)
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies
Support factory and flight line teams to resolve emergent production and in-service issues
Coordinate cross-functionally with manufacturing, crew operations, safety, supply chain, software teams, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies
Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance and system integration
Contribute to system safety analyses, fault tree analyses (FTAs), and reliability considerations
Research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential application
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
2+ years of related engineering experience
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
Experience supporting aircraft systems, flight deck components, or cockpit design
Familiarity with model-based engineering and numerical analysis tools
Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders
Work onsite on high-visibility aerospace programs shaping next-generation aircraft
