Airborne Electronic Hardware Engineer

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global aerospace leader to hire an Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) Engineer in Everett, Washington. In this highly visible role, you’ll oversee the development and certification of complex airborne electronic hardware that powers next-generation commercial aircraft—ensuring safety, compliance, and performance at the highest level.

As a Senior AEH Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership across internal teams and suppliers, supporting certified airborne electronics from development through compliance. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Overseeing the development of airborne electronic hardware for airplane systems, including ASICs, FPGAs, and PLDs
Providing showing of compliance or assisting in finding compliance with FAA regulations and RTCA/DO-254
Guiding suppliers to meet contractual requirements related to quality, delivery, cost, technical performance, and safety
Supporting audits, design reviews, and technical evaluations
Identifying risks and opportunities and helping implement mitigation strategies
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes, tools, and supplier performance
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships aligned with program and system objectives
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or Data Science
7+ years of experience developing complex electronic or electrical systems
5+ years of engineering experience supporting certified airborne electronic hardware
Demonstrated experience with RTCA/DO-254 and airborne electronic hardware compliance
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)
FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER), Authorized Representative (AR), or Engineering Unit Member (EUM) experience
Background working directly with suppliers in regulated aerospace environments
Advanced degree or equivalent combination of education and extensive industry experience
