SIL Engineering Technician

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace innovator to hire a SIL Engineering Technician in Arlington, Texas. In this hands-on role, you’ll support critical Systems Integration Lab (SIL) activities by fabricating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex wiring, cabling, and lab infrastructure that directly supports advanced aerospace programs.

As a SIL Engineering Technician, your daily work will support engineering, testing, and integration efforts. Responsibilities include:
Fabricating interconnecting cables and wiring harnesses from engineering drawings
Crimping, assembling, and soldering connector contacts to aircraft and J-STD standards
Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing test benches and lab infrastructure equipment
Reading and interpreting aircraft-level wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
Wiring and supporting serial data interfaces such as ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, and IEEE-488
Installing fiber optic cabling for reflective memory hardware
Safely operating hand tools and shop equipment (powered and unpowered)
Following ESD and FOD practices while working in confined areas when required
Collaborating closely with engineers and technicians in a team-based environment
High School Diploma
Minimum of 5 years of technical industry experience
Ability to crimp, assemble, and solder cable assemblies to aircraft standards
Ability to read and understand aircraft wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
Experience troubleshooting wiring and electrical systems using test equipment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined spaces for extended periods
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
Experience with fiber optic cabling and reflective memory hardware
Military background in aircraft or systems maintenance and support
Familiarity with aerospace lab environments and SIL operations
