Summary:
Perform structural analysis to support MRB dispositions for metallic and composite aircraft/spacecraft components.
Evaluate non-conforming hardware and determine structural acceptability, repair, or rework requirements.
Develop and review stress reports, analyses, and technical documentation to support engineering decisions.
Create and interpret finite element models (NASTRAN/FEMAP) to assess loads, stresses, margins of safety, and structural integrity.
Support design and manufacturing teams with stress guidance for repairs, deviations, and design changes.
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant engineering discipline
8+ years of experience in structural analysis (advanced degrees may be considered in lieu of professional experience)
Experience performing structural analysis of aircraft or spacecraft primary and secondary structures
Experience analyzing composite aircraft or spacecraft structures
Strong understanding of material properties and behavior, statics/free body diagrams, and structural load paths
Experience creating and interrogating FEA models, including pre- and post-processing NASTRAN models and sizing structural and system components
Advanced knowledge of finite element analysis using FEMAP
Experience supporting MRB activities, including dispositioning non-conforming metallic and composite components from manufacturing, assembly, or field operations
Strong teamwork, coordination, and collaboration skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Skills:
Experience with HyperX
Knowledge of and/or experience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) analysis
Experience designing flight vehicles or systems to regulatory or industry standards (e.g., CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23/25, military, or NASA standards)
Prior MRB or stress signature authority
Previous experience as a team lead
