PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled and motivated Machinist to support weekend production operations for one of our leading manufacturing partners. This is a great opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and blueprint‑reading abilities who want to work a compressed weekend shift with competitive pay and a strong bonus incentive.

Role Overview

As a Machinist, you will set up, operate, and adjust CNC mills and lathes to produce high‑precision parts. You will perform inspections, maintain quality, follow work instructions, and support production goals. This role requires strong mechanical understanding, problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely around machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills

• Perform first‑piece inspections and ensure quality throughout the run

• Follow job work instructions, engineering drawings, and quality procedures

• Deburr parts and maintain daily production goals

• Edit G‑code programs as needed

• Complete jobs in order of precedence and help meet production deadlines

• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles

• Attend and participate in daily tier meetings

• Track, run, and log jobs using the SAP system

• Ensure parts meet specifications using precise measurement tools

Qualifications

Required / We Value

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1–2 years of CNC machining experience preferred, but not required

• Strong mechanical knowledge

• Blueprint reading ability

• Proficiency using measuring tools:

  • Calipers

  • OD micrometers

  • 6" steel rulers

  • Height gauges

  • Depth micrometers

• Basic computer skills

• Reliable, safety‑focused, and able to follow instructions

Special Considerations

• Must be able to lift 30+ lbs repeatedly

• Work environment may include exposure to:

  • Machinery

  • Chemicals

  • Biological or other physical risks

• Must be comfortable standing for long periods and working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
