Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-month assignment)
As an Upholsterer, you’ll play a critical role in creating and restoring high-quality aircraft interior components. From seats to divans, your work ensures comfort, durability, and premium aesthetics—all while meeting the exacting standards of aerospace production. In this production-focused role, you’ll perform upholstery and assembly tasks with a strong emphasis on quality and consistency, including:
Remove, install, rework, and adjust leather and fabric covers on aircraft seats, divans, and related components
Interpret cover patterns and production instructions to perform sewing functions
Cut leather and fabric using patterns and specifications
Set up and operate industrial sewing machines, including changing thread, bobbins, and needles
Perform single and double top-stitching on leather and fabric with high precision
Prepare sewing pieces for Master Seamstress review
Inspect materials and finished products for defects, stains, or damage
Mark products and components with identifying information
Compare materials and finished products to specifications and quality standards
Utilize small hand tools and production equipment as required
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read and interpret production instructions, patterns, and safety documentation
Basic math skills for measurements, ratios, and calculations
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Ability to perform repetitive production work with consistent quality
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Minimum of 1 year of upholstery or sewing experience
Experience in automotive, furniture, marine, or aerospace upholstery
Familiarity with industrial sewing machines, grommet machines, or heat seal equipment
Experience working in regulated or production manufacturing environments
Frequent use of hands for handling, sewing, and material manipulation
Ability to sit, stand, reach, and occasionally stoop or kneel
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Work in a moderate-noise production environment with moving mechanical parts
