JOB TITLE: Senior Electrical Engineer
LOCATION: Irvine, CA
Salary: $145,000 $185,000 annually DOE, plus annual bonus eligibility.
We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Clearance: Must have legal authorization to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain required export authorization and DoD clearance.

Summary:
Design and develop subsystem hardware and software for aircraft systems
Define subsystem requirements and specifications
Create schematics, engineering drawings, test plans/procedures, data reports, presentations, and work instructions
Collaborate with mechanical, GNC, manufacturing, aerodynamics, procurement, quality assurance, and program management teams
Communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance and constructive feedback
Promote adherence to best practices and standard procedures
Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain required export authorization and DoD clearance.
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of progressive experience
Strong understanding of Electrical Engineering principles
7+ years of hands-on experience with electrical components and systems
Ability to architect and design electrical and electromechanical systems
Demonstrated troubleshooting, validation/testing, and system analysis experience
Experience documenting designs and analyses through reports, presentations, and engineering drawings
Experience with CAD tools such as Altium
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Some travel required
Work may occur in office, warehouse, and field environments
Must be able to stand, climb, crouch, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs
May involve moving equipment, climbing in/out of systems, crawling, and working outdoors

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing robotic and/or aircraft systems
UAV experience highly desired
Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and firmware/software
Experience working in small to medium R&D teams
Familiarity with MIL-spec hardware and harnessing standards
