JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Mechanic I
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $25.65/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

    Perform safe assembly, fitting, drilling, and riveting of structural parts and assemblies

    Layout, fabricate, and install sheet metal and structural components on aircraft

    Rivet structural assemblies using required tools (riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, shavers, reamers, files, etc.)

    Remove fasteners without damaging structure

    Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets

    Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, pins, and fasteners

    Perform repairs and rework per DMTs, MRRs, and PCOs

    Inspect work to ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspection

    Maintain accurate production logs and records (MIRs, DMTs, CRABS, PCOs)

    Maintain a clean and safe work area in support of 5S and safety programs

    Properly handle and dispose of waste materials and fluids

    Accurately charge labor to aircraft

    Coordinate work activities across shifts and participate in turnover meetings

    Assist with maintaining shop equipment and JSAs

    Support Lean initiatives and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

    High School Diploma or GED required

    Minimum 2 years of related structural assembly experience

    Experience with Solumina and SmarTeam preferred

    Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents

    Basic computer skills and shop math (including reading scales)

    Ability to work with composite materials, resins, adhesives, sealants, and solvents

    Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and teamwork

    Ability to work any shift

    Ability to climb ladders/stands/stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs

    Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

    Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
