Location: Wichita, KS
Schedule: All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. Most new hires will start on 2nd shift.
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (3 Months)
Pay Rate: $40.00 – $43.00 per hour

Role Summary

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire skilled CNC Machinists in Wichita, KS. In this role, you’ll produce high-precision aerospace components that directly support flight safety, performance, and reliability. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will help ensure on-time delivery of quality products to the customer.

What You’ll Do

• Set up, operate, and inspect parts using conventional and CNC machines

• Work from engineering drawings, process specifications, and quality requirements

• Perform multi-tasking and multi-machine operations as needed

• Produce precision parts and assemblies while ensuring product and process quality

• Conduct in-process checks and verification to ensure compliance with specifications

• Perform related machining tasks such as milling, drilling, boring, honing, grinding, fastening, and deburring

• Complete routine minor machine maintenance, including lubrication and coolant checks

• Move product within the manufacturing area using shop-assigned equipment

• Support continuous product flow by assisting and training team members

• Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified

Level A Responsibilities Include:

• Independently set up and operate complex CNC and conventional equipment

• Operate multi-axis machines to mill, bore, turn, thread, grind, and contour precision components

• Verify part dimensions using mechanical and electronic measuring tools

• Perform complete inspections, including first article reviews

• Document and initiate non-conformances for Material Review Board action

• Maintain quality records and perform process surveillance

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of CNC multi-axis machining experience

• Ability and willingness to work any shift, including alternative work weeks

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

• Experience with precision measurement tools

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace manufacturing experience

• Experience operating multiple CNC machines simultaneously

• Inspection experience and familiarity with quality documentation processes
