Shift: Swing / 2nd Shift – 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM (Non-Rotating)
Schedule: Monday–Friday
This is a 24x7x365 operations environment and requires working some weekends and holidays.
Pay Rate: $34.66 per hour

Your Role & Impact

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Tech Support Specialist to support a Tier 2 Network Operations Center (NOC) for a leading aerospace organization. In this mission-critical role, you will help ensure the stability, availability, and performance of global aerospace communication networks. Your expertise will directly support customers and business units that depend on secure, high-availability systems to operate around the clock.

What You’ll Do

As a Tech Support Specialist, you will be responsible for incident management, network monitoring, and troubleshooting within a high-demand operations center. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Monitoring network management systems and coordinating with telecom providers to drive service restoration

• Tracking, documenting, and updating incidents accurately in incident management tools

• Diagnosing and resolving system and network issues of limited to moderate complexity

• Supporting high-availability IP networks, messaging systems, and air-to-ground data communication systems

• Responding to and resolving routine technical inquiries from internal and external customers

• Collaborating with senior team members to resolve moderate to complex issues impacting critical services

• Applying established processes with sound judgment, recognizing the potential impact of errors

• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting, resolving, or escalating network issues as needed

• Supporting deployment, configuration, and maintenance activities and contributing to process improvements

• Participating in network solution design and configuration efforts

• Providing detailed, accurate guidance to customers with strong attention to detail

• Managing multiple tasks efficiently while prioritizing and delegating responsibilities as needed

Cross-Training Opportunity
Within the first 4–6 months, you will be trained across three NOC operational areas:

1. Transport: Monitoring routers, switches, firewalls, circuits, and core-to-edge network components

2. DataLink: Monitoring ground stations, radios, and processing systems supporting air-to-ground communications

3. Applications: Monitoring centralized systems that facilitate the flow of millions of messages daily

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or other 2-year post–high school education with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or
  High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience

• Network+ Certification

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols and system interconnectivity

• Understanding of ITIL/ITSM concepts and practices

• Experience troubleshooting Cisco networking devices

• Experience with HSRP and BGP routing protocols

• Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced operations environment
  
  This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA Certification

• Experience with tools such as Remedy, Netcool, Office 365, and ServiceNow

• Prior experience in a Network Operations Center or 24/7 support environment
