Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12 Months)
Pay Rate Starting at : $71.90 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to recruit an experienced Electronic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer. In this critical role, you will lead the design, integration, and validation of complex electronic and electrical systems that support advanced aerospace platforms. Your work will directly influence system performance, reliability, and mission success across the full product lifecycle.
Lead collaboration with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications
Lead system testing and validation to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements
Oversee and guide teams monitoring supplier performance and system integration compliance
Provide technical support and problem resolution for fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle
Coordinate hardware/software integration and laboratory testing activities
Research emerging technologies and assess potential application to business needs
Make informed recommendations for future technology investments
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related discipline
3 or more years of experience with electrical avionics system design, including:
Electrical systems and subsystems design
Interface cable design between systems and platforms
Hardware/software integration and lab-based system testing
Vendor coordination for component selection
Experience or knowledge of VPX or VME form factors
Experience or knowledge of communication standards and interfaces such as RS422/RS232, PC104, TCP/IP & Ethernet, IEEE-488, MMSI, and MIL-STD-1553
Technical system domain knowledge (e.g., air vehicle and/or weapons systems)
Experience with product or systems development and integration
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience or knowledge of cybersecurity principles or relevant cyber certifications
Experience or knowledge of network design
Familiarity with military standards used in hardware design and testing (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1472, etc.)
Experience using CAD tools and creating electrical schematics
Experience with systems engineering tools, schedules, and metrics (e.g., DOORS, CAMEO, earned value management)
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
CompTIA Security+ certification
Bachelor’s degree with 9 or more years of experience
Master’s degree with 7 or more years of experience
PhD with 4 or more years of experience
