Summary:
Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond metal, composite, or laminate parts, assemblies, skins, or equipment
Cut materials to size and operate autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens for bonding cycles
Sand, burr, smooth surfaces, and apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges
Follow engineering and manufacturing specifications to ensure proper bonding conditions (temperature, pressure, sequence)
Perform rework, repairs, and quality verification according to controlled procedures
Utilize lay-up tools (optical and hard tools) for assembly fabrication
Read and interpret prints, charts, sketches, work orders, and technical documents
Apply shop math and precision measuring instruments to complete assignments
Ensure equipment/tool certification and control of solvents/cleaning solutions per procedures
Perform routine minor machine maintenance and safely move product within the work area
Train and assist other employees; support continuous product flow
Train to become MVP qualified
Complete additional duties as assigned with training and certification
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
Experience in composite or metal fabrication, assembly, or bonding preferred
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics
Ability to operate autoclaves, presses, and other fabrication equipment
Strong attention to detail and quality focus
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to safely lift and move materials as required
Willingness to learn and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
