Pay Rate: $79- $99 per hour
PDS Tech is seeking an Engineering Development Mechanic to support hands on build and assembly activities for advanced mechanical and structural aerospace components. This is a non managerial, non leadership position requiring strong mechanical aptitude, precision, and a commitment to safety and quality.

As an Field Service Rep you will support the fabrication, installation, modification, and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies and structural components. This role bridges hands on mechanical work with execution of planned tasks using work orders, engineering designs, computer models, and technical procedures.
You will work with composite materials, sheet metal, fasteners, and wire harness installations to support prototype and production-build efforts.
Fabricate and assemble mechanical and structural components using standard hand and power tools
Install fasteners, bonding materials, wire harnesses, tubing, and structural hardware
Perform structural drill outs, heavy structure work, and component modifications
Maintain accurate documentation, buyoffs, inspections, and non conformance records
Collaborate with engineers to recommend design updates and process improvements
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues as they arise
Ensure full compliance with safety protocols, quality requirements, and configuration control
Follow work orders, technical drawings, computer models, and manufacturing processes
Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in:
Aircraft maintenance
Machine trades
Manufacturing technologies
Hands on experience with:
Composites, titanium, and sheet metal
Riveting and fastening systems
Wiring, tubing, and basic machining
Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical data
Proficiency using aerospace tooling:
Torque wrenches
Countersinks
Drills and deburring tools
Calibrated equipment
Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and communication skills
Certifications such as A&P, specialty mechanical training, or equivalent experience preferred
Regular and predictable attendance is required
