Summary:
Collaborate with internal engineering/manufacturing teams and external suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Monitor supplier/subcontractor quality activities, conduct source inspections, audits, and due diligence, and review vendor qualifications.
Lead root cause investigations, corrective/preventive actions (8D, 5-Why, FMEA, Fault Tree), and process improvement initiatives.
Ensure documentation compliance and maintain active approvals and certifications for suppliers/subcontractors.
Perform First Article Inspections (AS9102) and manage non-conforming product disposition (MRB).
Support US Department of Defense programs and maintain AS9100 Quality Management compliance.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders across Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Finance, suppliers, and customers.
Requirements:
Clearance: Ability to obtain (not required to start)
Bachelor s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Experience with quality engineering standards, procedures, methods, and control plans.
Knowledge of Design/Process FMEA and procedure compliance assessments.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Familiarity with inspection methods for electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Experience with supplier quality assurance, MRB, and corrective action processes.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and solve problems collaboratively.
Understanding of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Project, Visio).
Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of special processes and daily supplier management.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Desired Skills:
Certified in Lean or Six Sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Experience with contract and government customer programs.
