PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a highly skilled Flight Test Inspector to support experimental aircraft programs. In this critical role, your expertise will help ensure aircraft safety, performance, and compliance before flight—directly contributing to successful test programs and safe operations.
As a Flight Test Inspector, you will perform detailed inspections on experimental aircraft throughout the flight test lifecycle. From pre-flight readiness to post-flight verification, your work ensures aircraft are built, tested, and documented in full compliance with engineering specifications and safety requirements. Your attention to detail will play a key role in protecting crews, aircraft, and mission success.
Perform in-process, pre-flight, post-flight, and final inspections of experimental aircraft
Verify compliance with engineering specifications, restrictive special inspections, and preventive maintenance schedules
Witness and inspect installation of experimental ground test articles
Inspect assembly, installation, and functional testing of aircraft systems and components
Conduct initial shakedown inspections of experimental aircraft arriving from final assembly
Verify resolution of in-flight and ground discrepancies prior to flight release
Document discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with engineering and experimental technicians
Ensure all inspection and configuration paperwork is complete prior to flight
Prepare and maintain maintenance, inspection, aircraft log, and test records
Write conformities confirming assemblies and installations meet engineering requirements
Perform aircraft weighing and initiate weight and balance documentation
Monitor and ensure certification status of tools and inspection equipment
Typically 3 years of experience in preflight or flight test inspection
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Proficiency using precision measurement instruments and inspection equipment
Working knowledge of aircraft systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, avionics, and instrumentation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
Experience inspecting experimental aircraft
Background supporting flight test programs or ground test operations
Familiarity with quality systems, configuration control, and aircraft documentation requirements
