Ensure Aircraft Are Mission-Ready in a Critical Aerospace Inspection Role
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire experienced Flight Readiness Technician Inspectors (Level C) to support aircraft storage and delivery operations in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring aircraft systems are properly installed, inspected, tested, and ready for delivery. Your expertise will directly impact safety, quality, and operational readiness in a highly regulated aerospace environment.
This is a 9-month full-time consulting opportunity ideal for inspectors who thrive in hands-on, detail-driven roles and are flexible to support variable shifts based on business needs.
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (9 months)
Location: San Antonio, TX
Pay Rate: $45.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday; must be available for variable 1st and 2nd shifts
As a Flight Readiness Technician Inspector, you will perform detailed inspections and verifications across aircraft systems to support delivery readiness. Daily responsibilities include:
Verifying flight component installation and conducting functional testing of aircraft systems
Inspecting and troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems
Performing pre-flight, post-flight, maintenance, and modification inspections prior to delivery
Documenting discrepancies, faults, and non-conformances with minimal supervision
Supporting system and sub-system pre-delivery inspections and maintenance readiness
Verifying accuracy of completed work and performing self-inspections when required
Assisting with planning and scheduling tasks in coordination with leads
Creating and managing non-conformance records (NCRs) and related documentation
Supporting safe operations in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and flight line environments
This is a non-managerial, non-leadership role focused on execution, quality, and compliance.
Ability to work any shift, including days, nights, and weekends
3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
3+ years of experience in quality inspection and/or auditing
3+ years of experience working with Velocity and other 787 production applications
Experience working in a team-based environment
Ability to meet physical and environmental job requirements, including lifting up to 35 lbs, working in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and high-noise environments
Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception testing
Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications and training
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
3+ years of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk experience
3+ years of 787 program experience
3+ years of flight line operations experience
2+ years of formal or informal team leadership experience
Proficiency with REDARS, PSDS, and aerospace specifications
Experience generating NCRs and EPDs (NC, NCR, RGEN, PU, SAT, SRR, etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Education and experience typically acquired through a high school diploma or GED with 4+ years of related experience
Equivalent combinations of vocational, associate, or bachelor-level education and experience will be considered
Successful completion of required training (OJT or classroom) is a contingency of this assignment
