Summary:
Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, panels, and various assemblies/subassemblies in aircraft interiors
Sew, fabricate, and install covers for all interior panel styles while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards
Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished products meet requirements
Cut and install advanced custom design carpets with unique patterns
Utilize the material tracking system (Corridor) to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work
Accept Lead responsibilities when needed, overseeing projects and delegating tasks to technicians
Conduct safety audits and assist team members in safety compliance
Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs
Comply with and champion Safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; ensure protection of aircraft interiors (PTP)
Mentor and train less experienced technicians, monitoring work to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are met
Collaborate with Lead and higher-skilled technicians to implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce material cost, cycle time, and labor hours
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Upholstery experience:
4 years of general upholstery, including 2 years aircraft upholstery experience, or
6 years commercial upholstery experience
Advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes and products, or advanced carpet knowledge, including the ability to install custom carpets
Ability to read, interpret, and apply design/engineering drawings and material specifications
Computer literate
Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work in small or restricted areas
Lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to work any shift as required
Proficient in English (read, write, speak, and understand)
Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications and terminology
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
