PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to support a cutting-edge aerospace program focused on low-level systems development. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver a Windows 11 PCIe device driver for a custom PCIe card, supporting hardware that plays a critical role in advanced aerospace systems. Your work will directly impact system reliability, performance, and mission readiness.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the full development lifecycle of a PCIe device driver, including:
Designing and developing a Windows 11 PCIe device driver for a custom PCIe card
Setting up and maintaining the driver build, testing, and signing process
Performing unit testing, integration testing, and validation to ensure performance and reliability
Debugging and resolving low-level hardware and driver issues
Collaborating closely with hardware engineers and systems teams onsite
Ensuring consistent, predictable attendance to support hands-on development and testing
Producing clear technical documentation to support development and release activities
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
Minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years with a Master’s degree
Hands-on experience developing, testing, and releasing Windows 11 PCIe device drivers
Strong understanding of low-level systems programming and hardware-software integration
Ability to work onsite in Pleasanton, CA for the duration of the assignment
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience developing, testing, and releasing Linux PCIe device drivers (Ubuntu and/or Red Hat)
Familiarity with cross-platform driver development
Experience working in regulated or high-reliability environments
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
