Shift: Mid Shift / 3rd Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Schedule: Monday–Friday (non-rotating)
This is a 24x7x365 operations center role and requires working some weekends and holidays.
Pay Rate: $34 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a dedicated Tech Support Specialist to support a Tier 2 Network Operations Center (NOC) for a leading aerospace organization. In this high-impact role, you will help ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of global aerospace communication networks. Your work will directly support customers who rely on secure, real-time connectivity to operate safely and efficiently around the world.
As a Tech Support Specialist, you will play a key role in incident management and network monitoring within a 24/7 operations environment. Responsibilities include:
Monitoring network management systems and engaging service providers to drive service restoration
Tracking incidents and maintaining accurate, timely updates within incident management tools
Diagnosing and resolving systems and network issues of limited to moderate complexity
Supporting high-availability IP networks, messaging systems, and air-to-ground data communication systems
Responding to and resolving routine technical inquiries from internal and external customers
Collaborating with senior team members to resolve moderate to complex incidents
Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting, resolving, or escalating network issues as needed
Applying established processes with sound judgment, recognizing that errors may cause broader service impacts
Supporting deployment, configuration, and maintenance activities and contributing to efficiency improvements
Participating in network solution design and configuration discussions
Providing detailed customer guidance with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Efficiently multitasking, prioritizing, and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Training & Cross-Functional Exposure
Within the first 4–6 months, you will be trained across three NOC operational areas:
Transport: Monitoring routers, switches, firewalls, circuits, and core-to-edge network components
DataLink: Monitoring ground stations, radios, and processing systems supporting air-to-ground communications
Applications: Monitoring centralized systems that manage high volumes of operational messaging
Network+ Certification
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols and system interconnectivity
Understanding of ITIL/ITSM concepts and practices
Experience troubleshooting Cisco networking devices
Experience with HSRP and BGP routing protocols
Associate degree or other 2-year post–high school education with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or
High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience
Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operations environment
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
CCNA Certification
Experience with tools such as Remedy, Netcool, Office 365, and ServiceNow
Prior experience in a network operations center or 24/7 support environment
