Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate Starting : $52.22 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a talented Software Engineer to support advanced secure computing solutions for commercial and aerospace applications. Based in Pleasanton, California, this role places you on an Integrated Product Team developing cutting-edge cybersecurity processor solutions where software quality, reliability, and security are paramount. Your work will directly impact the safety and integrity of next-generation aerospace systems.
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute across the software development and testing lifecycle, with responsibilities that include:
Designing, developing, and integrating software use-case tests to verify hardware and software functionality
Implementing test plans and schedules across all phases of the software lifecycle
Supporting the development of requirements-based test plans
Creating, tracking, and validating resolution of software defects through the full release cycle
Collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, and systems engineers
Applying a strong understanding of software development flows and processes
Writing clear, concise technical documentation tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
Maintaining regular, predictable onsite attendance to support hands-on testing and integration
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
Bachelor’s degree with 2 or more years of experience, or Master’s degree with 1 or more year of experience
Solid understanding of software test processes
Experience developing and debugging software using C and scripting languages such as Python
Experience working with embedded software and hardware
Understanding of embedded software testing methodologies
Familiarity with test automation concepts
Excellent written communication skills
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience developing embedded software for ARM-based processors
Familiarity with computer and information security principles
Experience working with memory-mapped peripherals and bus alignment issues
Background supporting secure or high-reliability computing environments
