Support Engineering Data Specialist – Aerospace Technical Publications

Location: Warner Robins, GA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (7:00 AM–4:00 PM)
Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant (12-Month Contract)
Pay Rate Starting at: $38.33 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a Support Engineering Data Specialist who will play a critical role in developing, validating, and maintaining technical publications that support aircraft and equipment readiness. In this position, your work directly impacts maintenance accuracy, safety, and operational effectiveness for complex aerospace systems.
You’ll collaborate with engineers, program teams, and customers to transform technical source data into clear, compliant, and accurate maintenance publications used in real-world aerospace operations.
Develop complete technical publication elements for new and fielded aerospace systems and subsystems, including:
Theory of operation
Flight manuals
Testing and troubleshooting procedures
Illustrated parts breakdowns
Removal and installation procedures
Schematic diagrams
Collect, research, and analyze source data such as maintenance concepts, task analyses, workflows, and equipment requirements
Resolve source data gaps, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in collaboration with data originators
Validate source data assumptions and determine impacts to technical publications
Provide detailed art mark-ups and update publication elements based on reviews, equipment modifications, and data changes
Conduct peer reviews to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with customer formats and specifications
Support customer verification reviews and implement corrective actions as required
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Typically 3+ years of related experience (or Master’s + 1 year, or 7+ years of related experience)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical source data issues
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex technical information
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Familiarity with XML (eXtensible Markup Language)
Experience using Contenta
Knowledge of S1000D specifications
Experience developing Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)
Background supporting aerospace or defense programs
