Sr. Field Technician

You’ll be the trusted expert on the ground, ensuring networks are built with precision and perform at their peak.
Your day-to-day impact includes:
Installing, commissioning, and maintaining telecom equipment and infrastructure (fiber & copper) in real-world environments.
Conducting detailed Datacenter and PoP audits—equipment, ports, cabling, connectivity.
Performing advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, and validation of optical fiber systems.
Executing insertion loss, OTDR, BER, and other key network performance tests.
Partnering with senior network engineers remotely to configure and verify deployed systems.
Documenting your work with accuracy, clarity, and accountability.
Ensuring safety and industry compliance at every site.
Providing timely status reports and communicating risks proactively.
Supporting after-hours cutovers or migrations when mission-critical work demands it.

Equipment & port auditing
Fiber & cable tracing
Fiber traffic identifier tests
Visual Fault Locator use
Rack & equipment installation (active + passive)
PDU installation
CATx & fiber cabling
DC & AC power termination
Copper cable terminations
Software updates & equipment configuration
Standalone equipment testing
Insertion loss, OTDR, and BER testing
Solid fault-finding abilities
Ability to compile clean, professional test reports
Equipment commissioning
Wavelength adds & balancing
Signal-to-noise ratio testing
CD/PMD testing
Use of OSA
DWDM link/span build, test & commissioning
Ciena, Huawei, Nokia, Infinera, Lucent, Adva, Nortel systems.
Degree or diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Hands-on experience in telecom exchanges or datacenter environments
Knowledge of DWDM & OTN transmission systems
Strong understanding of fiber principles (attenuation, dispersion, signal loss)
Familiarity with DC/AC power systems
Experience with OTDRs, power meters, multimeters, OSAs
Strong documentation, communication, and troubleshooting abilities
Independent, detail-oriented, and team-focused
Valid driver’s license
Willingness to travel as needed
