Role Summary & Impact

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace organization to hire a highly skilled Software Engineer (Tableau Developer) to support advanced engineering, manufacturing, and technology programs. In this role, you will be the technical lead for Tableau analytics within a functional area, transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights that directly support mission-critical aerospace systems and leadership decision-making.

This is a hands-on, onsite role in a fast-paced, highly technical environment where data accuracy, performance, and visualization excellence matter.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)

• Design, build, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations

• Prepare, model, and validate raw data for Tableau consumption

• Establish and maintain connections to new and existing data sources

• Create dimensions, measures, calculated fields, and Hyper extracts

• Develop and publish Tableau workbooks to Development, QA, and Production environments

• Verify data accuracy and consistency in collaboration with data engineers and analysts

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective analytics solutions

• Maintain and enhance existing dashboards, resolving data-quality and performance issues

• Monitor usage metrics and optimize Tableau resource performance

• Coordinate releases, migrations, approvals, and production sign-offs

• Manage user access for Interactors and Viewers in compliance with governance protocols

• Provide Tier-1 Tableau support, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer to users

• Act as the primary liaison between functional teams, Tableau administrators, DBAs, and IT

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field

• 2–4 years of hands-on Tableau development experience

• Advanced proficiency with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Online, and Hyper extracts

• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation

• Solid understanding of data modeling, visualization best practices, and ETL concepts

• Experience working in a structured, data-governed environment

• Ability to support users in a manufacturing or technical setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating Tableau with Python, R, or similar analytical tools

• Familiarity with data catalog or governance tools such as Collibra

• Tableau Server administration experience (user/role management, site setup)

• Scripting or automation using Tableau REST API, Python, or PowerShell

• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
