Summary:
Lead functional engineering teams (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through structured investigations for FAA Letters of Investigation, Compliance Actions, Voluntary Disclosures, Self-Audit findings, and Part 25 Airworthiness Non-Compliances.
Coordinate with functional groups, management, executives, and suppliers to align all stakeholders on investigation status and resolution.
Investigate regulatory compliance issues by defining the problem, performing root cause analysis, developing containment actions, preventing recurrence, and verifying effectiveness.
Coordinate with Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) to ensure investigation reports meet regulatory expectations.
Partner with enterprise teams to continuously improve processes and tools for consistent and compliant investigations.
Requirements:
Typically requires advanced technical education (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) plus 10+ years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact with senior management and technical peers from external customers, including airlines and regulatory agencies
Experience leading, influencing, and mentoring diverse teams
Initiative in leading cross-functional teams and complex projects
Ability to take ownership and ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools (e.g., 5-Whys, Fishbone)
Experience with commercial airplane operation, certification, safety requirements, and procedures
Knowledge of FAA Regulatory Compliance and ODA procedures per 8100.15
Experience working with FAA or other regulatory agencies
Experience in Commercial Airplane-Systems design or analysis (Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels, Systems Integration)
Pilot s license
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
