Summary:
Lead functional engineering teams (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through structured investigations for any FAA-issued Letters of Investigation, Compliance Actions, Voluntary Disclosures, Self-Audit findings, and Part 25 Airworthiness Non-Compliances.
Coordinate with management, executives, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on investigation status and resolution.
Drive regulatory compliance investigations by defining the problem statement, performing root cause analysis, developing containment and corrective actions, and verifying non-recurrence.
Collaborate with Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) representatives to ensure investigation documentation meets regulatory standards.
Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure readiness for future challenges and compliance with industry standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor s, Master s, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited institution
9+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to engage with senior management and technical peers from customers and regulatory agencies
Experience leading, influencing, and mentoring diverse teams
Proven aptitude for taking initiative, leading cross-functional teams, and managing complex projects
Ability to take ownership of tasks and ensure timely, accurate completion
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools (5-Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
1+ years experience with commercial airplane operation, certification, or safety procedures
Knowledge of FAA regulatory compliance and ODA procedures
1+ years of experience with FAA or other regulatory agencies
1+ years in commercial airplane systems design or analysis (Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels, Systems Integration)
Pilot s license and/or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
