Summary:
Lead functional engineering organizations (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through structured investigations related to FAA Letters of Investigation, informal or formal compliance actions, voluntary disclosures, self-audit findings, and Part 25 airworthiness non-compliances.
Coordinate closely with functional teams, management, executives, and suppliers to ensure alignment on investigation status and resolution.
Partner with internal engineering teams to define problem statements, conduct comprehensive root cause investigations, identify systemic causes, and develop containment actions, corrective actions, and verification methods to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate closely with the Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) to ensure investigation documentation meets regulatory expectations.
Partner with enterprise-level teams to continuously improve processes and tools, ensuring readiness for future program needs and consistency across the organization.
Requirements:
Bachelor s, Master s, or Doctorate degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively within a diverse, cross-functional team
Demonstrated initiative and ability to lead projects and teams
Willingness to take ownership of work and ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools (e.g., 5-Whys, Fishbone) or comparable structured problem-solving methodologies
1+ years of experience in commercial airplane operations, certification, safety requirements, and procedures
Working knowledge of FAA regulatory compliance and ODA procedures (FAA Order 8100.15)
1+ years of experience working with the FAA or other regulatory agencies
1+ years of experience in commercial aircraft systems design, analysis, or systems integration (e.g., Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels)
Pilot s License
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
