Pay Rate starting at: $54.10 per hour
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite (limited virtual flexibility for highly qualified candidates)
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to support a critical In-Service Safety Organization. We are seeking a Mid-Level Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer who is passionate about safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will lead and support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations tied to regulatory compliance issues. Your work will directly impact aircraft safety, strengthen regulatory compliance, and help ensure the continued reliability of commercial aviation throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
Lead and participate in RCCA investigations related to FAA Letters of Investigation, compliance actions, voluntary disclosures, self-audit findings, and Part 25 airworthiness non-compliances
Guide cross-functional engineering teams (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through structured investigation processes
Define clear problem statements and conduct thorough root cause analyses to identify systemic contributors
Develop containment actions, corrective actions, and verification plans to prevent recurrence
Coordinate closely with engineering teams, leadership, suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders to align on investigation progress and outcomes
Partner with Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) representatives to ensure investigation documentation meets regulatory expectations
Support continuous improvement of investigation processes, tools, and compliance readiness
Communicate complex technical and regulatory topics effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
5+ years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively within diverse, cross-functional teams
Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ownership of work
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Working knowledge of RCCA tools such as 5-Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or structured problem-solving methodologies
Experience with commercial aircraft operations, certification, safety requirements, or compliance procedures
Familiarity with FAA regulatory compliance and ODA processes (e.g., FAA Order 8100.15)
Experience working directly with the FAA or other regulatory agencies
Background in aircraft systems design, analysis, or systems integration (e.g., Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels)
Pilot’s License and/or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
