$82–$92/hr (DOE)

We’re supporting a leading aerospace and propulsion company seeking a Senior-Level Scientist/Technical Lead to drive the analysis, design, and optimization of turbomachinery for liquid rocket engine systems. This is a high-visibility, contract-to-hire opportunity working on cutting-edge propulsion programs.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead and perform advanced thermodynamic, aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, and CFD analyses
• Design and analyze inducers, impellers, volutes, pumps, turbines, and related components
• Evaluate cavitation, NPSH, rotor–stator interactions, tip leakage, and secondary flow losses
• Support engine cycle analysis (gas generator, staged combustion, expander, etc.)
• Correlate analytical models with test data using commercial and in-house tools
• Produce and present technical analysis and test reports
• Support verification testing and collaborate with designers and project engineers
• Mentor engineers and contribute to long-term technical capability growth
Required Qualifications
• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)
• 9+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Strong foundation in aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
• High proficiency with ANSYS Workbench / FLUENT / CFX, CFD++
• Programming experience in MATLAB, FORTRAN, or Python
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Preferred
• MS or PhD in Engineering
• Deep experience with cryogenic propellants and high-speed turbomachinery reliability
