Pay Rate Starting : $86.19 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a world-renowned aerospace leader to support on the cutting-edge T-7A Red Hawk Advanced Pilot Training Program. As a Design and Analysis Engineer (Senior Technical Lead – Level 5), you will play a critical role in the development, integration, verification, and production support of advanced mission systems avionics.
This role directly impacts the performance, safety, and reliability of next-generation pilot training aircraft—helping redefine how military aviators are trained. You’ll work on both new development and off-the-shelf hardware verified in advanced labs and flight test environments.
Work statement: non-managerial, non-leadership role.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and engineering peers
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Review, approve, and oversee technical approaches, products, and processes
Lead the development and documentation of complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Translate complex requirements into system architectures, hardware/software designs, and interface specifications
Lead verification, validation, and testing activities to ensure systems meet operational and functional requirements
Support hardware qualification, laboratory integration, aircraft integration, and production efforts
Manage technical performance of critical suppliers to ensure compliance and system integration
Assign and coordinate technical activities to ensure consistency and correctness
Research emerging technologies for potential application to future aerospace programs
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science
9+ years of systems engineering experience including requirements development, functional decomposition, design, analysis, verification, and evaluation
9+ years of experience with avionics hardware and software development, production, and project support
9+ years of experience in process development, qualification, physical and functional integration, and supplier issue resolution
9+ years of experience with hardware and LRU development, testing, and qualification
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
10+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with advanced cockpit displays (HUD, UFCD, LAD) and mission systems avionics
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (strongly preferred)
Background in defense and/or aerospace programs
Experience with both commercial and military avionics systems
Supplier and supply chain management experience
Proposal development experience
