PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a leading aerospace partner in Everett, WA. This is an exciting opportunity to influence next-generation aircraft systems through advanced engineering, systems integration, and rigorous safety and certification processes.
In this role, you’ll support cross-functional teams to bring sophisticated aircraft systems from concept through validation. Your expertise in requirements engineering, architecture, and safety analysis will directly impact the reliability, performance, and certification of cutting-edge aerospace technologies.
Lead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation across aircraft, system, and item levels.
Develop and maintain functional and logical system architecture.
Support safety processes including FHA, PSSA, CMA, SSA, and FMEA/FMES.
Ensure full requirements traceability from high-level needs through design and implementation.
Plan and execute verification and validation activities across the V-model lifecycle.
Collaborate across hardware, software, safety, and test engineering teams during design, integration, and testing phases.
Prepare documentation and support interactions with certification authorities, including FAA/EASA.
Participate in technical design reviews, audits, and engineering interchange meetings.
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience within the systems engineering lifecycle in aerospace, automotive, or other complex system environments.
Hands-on experience with V-Diagram processes governing requirements, design, implementation, verification, and validation.
Knowledge of safety assessments: FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FMEA/FMES.
Familiarity with certification frameworks such as ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, and DO-254.
Strong analytical skills, technical communication abilities, and collaborative mindset.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
Systems modeling expertise using SysML/UML, Cameo, or similar tools.
Background in test planning and execution at multiple integration levels.
Knowledge of aircraft system design, development, and certification processes.
