Location: Sterling, VA | Schedule: M–F, 6AM–3PM (9/80 B Schedule) | Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $22.79 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Assembler to support a leader in the aerospace industry during a surge in production. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will help build mechanical assemblies that play a vital part in the development of advanced flight simulators.
As an Assembler, you will contribute directly to the manufacturing of high-quality aerospace training systems. Your expertise in mechanical assembly and precision workmanship will support the build of subassemblies and installations that ensure top-level performance and reliability.
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, BOMs, diagrams, and written instructions.
Perform mechanical assembly of subassemblies and installations for flight simulators.
Operate hand tools, power tools, drills, drill bits, sanding/cutting tools, and measuring equipment.
Maintain workstation inventory and ensure all components are accounted for.
Perform quality inspections, identify defects, and document issues.
Rework or repair assembled equipment per engineering changes or instructions.
Work in accordance with established safety protocols and quality standards.
Operate fork trucks and overhead cranes for loading and unloading materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Work onsite full-time in a standing role for up to 8 hours a day.
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs and climb up to 6 feet (25% of the time).
Wear steel-toed boots (not provided).
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience with basic hand tools and drill/drill bits.
Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
Ability to climb up to 6 feet and lift 25 lbs.
