JOB TITLE: RS Senior Aircraft Upholstery Technician

Summary:
Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, and various assemblies/subassemblies
Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure compliance with requirements
Sew, fabricate, and install covers for all styles of interior panels while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards
Use Corridor material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work
Work with design/drawings to cut and install advanced custom-design carpets with unique patterns
Accept Lead responsibilities as needed; oversee projects and coordinate task delegation with the Lead
Conduct safety audits and assist team members with completing safety audits
Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs
Champion Safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; ensure protection of aircraft interiors (PTP)
Mentor and train less-skilled technicians; monitor their work for safety, quality, and productivity compliance
Collaborate with Lead and senior technicians to implement process improvements to reduce material cost, cycle time, and labor hours using Lean Six-Sigma tools
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
4 years of upholstery experience, including 2 years of aircraft upholstery or 6 years of commercial upholstery experience
Advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes and products
Advanced carpet knowledge, including the ability to install custom carpets
Working knowledge of inspection and process specifications/terminology
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents
Computer literacy required
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small/restricted areas, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
