PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a highly organized Project Management Specialist to support critical hiring and onboarding operations at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans. This role sits at the intersection of project management and workforce coordination—ensuring teams are staffed, equipped, and ready to support high-profile aerospace programs.

About the Role

In this role, you will independently plan, coordinate, and manage project activities tied to large-scale hiring and onboarding efforts. Your work will directly enable program readiness by ensuring managers, new hires, and stakeholders stay aligned, on schedule, and fully supported from start to finish.

Position Details

• Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-month assignment, likely extension)

• Location: New Orleans, LA 

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (flexible full 40 hours)

• Pay Rate starting at : $55.80 per hour

What You’ll Do Day to Day

• Lead and maintain integrated project plans and schedules supporting hiring and onboarding activities

• Coordinate administrative onboarding activities for 100+ new hires across MAF and other sites

• Support managers with resume reviews, interview scheduling, equipment requests, workspace planning, and orientation logistics

• Pull, correlate, and analyze data from multiple sources to create metrics and reports for leadership

• Track tasks, actions, risks, trends, and variances; communicate status throughout the project lifecycle

• Coordinate training activities and material/equipment needs for new and relocating employees

• Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders at multiple organizational levels

• Assist customers in developing performance recovery plans when needed

• Improve project management processes, tools, and best practices to support decision-makers

• Ensure project control systems are in place and functioning effectively

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and typically 6+ years of related experience
  or Master’s degree and typically 4+ years of related experience
  or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Proven project management experience, including schedule development and stakeholder coordination

• Experience supporting staffing and onboarding processes (HR, onboarding specialist, or similar)

• Ability to work with sensitive information and personally identifiable information (PII)

• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to present clear, actionable metrics to leadership

• Exceptional organization, follow-through, and communication skills

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace, manufacturing, or large-scale program environment experience

• Experience working with multiple managers and cross-functional teams

• Familiarity with workforce ramp-ups or high-volume onboarding initiatives
