Location: Avon, Indiana (Onsite)
Pay: $25 per hour

Our client in Avon, IN is seeking a skilled Engineering Drafter to join their team. This onsite role supports engineering and design operations by developing and maintaining precise technical drawings used in fabrication, construction, and installation.

Position Overview
The Engineering Drafter will create, revise, and manage detailed 2D/3D drawings and models. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure all designs meet project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and models using CAD software (AutoCAD required; SolidWorks/Revit preferred).
Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations to create detailed technical drawings.
Update and revise drawings based on engineering changes or project updates.
Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, industry codes, and client specifications.
Collaborate with engineers and project teams to clarify design details and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain document control for all drawings and revisions.
Assist in preparing fabrication, erection, and assembly drawings.
Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications
Associate degree or drafting/engineering technology certificate (Bachelor’s a plus).
Proficiency in CAD software; AutoCAD required. REVIT/ SOLIDWORKS highly desired
Knowledge of structural, mechanical, or civil engineering drafting standards.
Strong understanding of GD&T.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Occasional site visits may be required for measurements or field data collection.

Preferred Experience
2+ years of drafting or engineering support experience.
Background in construction, fabrication, or manufacturing.
Knowledge of steel structures, tanks, or pressure vessels.
Experience with BIM is a plus
