Summary:
Perform manual and/or selective soldering of through-hole, SMT, BGA, QFN, CSP, and other component types.
Conduct visual inspections using microscopes and AOI to identify defects such as bridges, cold joints, tombstoning, insufficient wetting, and voids.
Apply IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-2221/2222 standards throughout the assembly process.
Verify solder paste, flux, and related materials meet specifications.
Recommend and support improvements to soldering processes, tooling, and work instructions.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and PPE use.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in electronics assembly preferred.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on solder assembly experience in a production environment.
IPC-A-610 , 1 2 years
IPC J-STD, 1 2 years
Soldering, 1 2 years
Proficient with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, etc.).
Ability to solder and inspect a wide range of component sizes (0201 1206, BGAs, QFNs, etc.).
Familiarity with soldering tools (soldering iron, hot air gun, reflow oven, wave solder).
Strong visual inspection skills; experienced with microscopes and AOI equipment.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills; collaborative team player.
Experience with mixed-technology boards (SMT and through-hole).
Knowledge of lead-free and RoHS-compliant processes.
Familiarity with SPC and yield analysis.
Ability to lift up to 25 lb (e.g., PCB boxes, tooling).
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
