PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Cabin Design Engineer to take charge of cabin architecture and lead the development and validation of Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for cabin modification projects. This role is key in shaping the design, modification, and enhancement of aircraft cabins, ensuring all modifications meet rigorous standards and bring innovative upgrades to life.
Role Impact: As a Cabin Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for driving the design and integration of cutting-edge cabin systems for aircraft. Your leadership will ensure that cabin modifications are executed seamlessly, from concept through to certification, enhancing passenger experience and ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards. You’ll collaborate with a team of engineers across the globe, delivering innovative cabin solutions that transform aircraft interiors.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Lead engineering activities related to cabin modifications, ensuring all deliverables, schedules, costs, and risks are carefully managed.
Define technical and qualification requirements for cabin equipment development, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards.
Coordinate design & justification activities for cabin modifications, from initial design to final certification.
Produce Cabin Definition and Installation Drawings that define technical and installation requirements for cabin systems.
Support Weight & Balance (W&B) and technical note generation for substantiation or certification purposes.
Contribute to Service Bulletin (SB) and Technical Publications, ensuring all modifications meet certification standards.
Identify opportunities to optimize processes and tools, simplifying the modification and certification process.
Collaborate with diverse teams and vendors to ensure that cabin systems are integrated and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Your Boarding Pass:
Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
Experience: 6+ years within the aviation industry, specifically in aircraft cabin engineering and development. Expertise in the aircraft cabin modification process, including design, certification, and integration of cabin systems.
Skills:
Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 and configuration management.
Proven experience in aircraft modifications, upgrades, and cabin integration.
Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
Ability to interpret and mentor technical topics across various engineering disciplines.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Aircraft knowledge, including familiarity with tools like Airn@V, Tasky, PASS SSI, ICC, and Zamiz.
Knowledge of EASA regulations, including Part 21 (DOA / POA), Part 145, and CS25.
Delegated signatory for ATA25 within DOA.
Experience in STC development and regulatory approval processes.
