Product Repair & Modifications Technician – Support Mission-Ready Aircraft Excellence
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking Product Repair/Modifications Technicians to join our team in partnership with a leading aerospace innovator. This is an opportunity to work directly on the C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program, supporting aircraft that play a critical role in global mobility and defense operations. Your technical expertise will ensure these aircraft remain safe, reliable, and mission-ready.
Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA
Job Type: Full-Time; Consultant (12 months with likely extensions)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) or 2nd Shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM)
Pay: $47.78/hr
In this hands-on role, you will perform repairs, modifications, troubleshooting, and validation testing on the C-17 platform. Your work will directly contribute to flight worthiness, operational readiness, and long-term sustainment of one of the military’s most vital aircraft.
Assemble, disassemble, repair, and modify aerospace vehicle systems and components
Oversee assembly, disassembly, and overhaul processes as needed
Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment
Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and structural systems
Perform verification and validation testing on aircraft systems and components
Inspect components and verify repairs meet flight-worthiness requirements
Document repairs, test results, inspections, and compliance processes
Support training needs and share expertise with team members
Work under general direction while maintaining high safety, quality, and productivity standards
Use fall protection and perform work in confined spaces, as required
Obtain and maintain Ground Operations Personnel (GOP) and respirator certifications
High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of relevant aerospace or mechanical experience
Minimum 3 years working at heights using fall-protection equipment (225 lb max. weight limit)
3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
3+ years of experience identifying hazardous conditions and maintaining safe work environments
3+ years of experience performing repair, maintenance, or retrofit work on complex mechanical systems
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Ability to meet physical requirements including fall-protection, confined space movement, and long periods of standing
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
C-17 aircraft platform experience (3+ years strongly preferred)
Experience reading C-17 blueprints and USAF Technical Orders
Multi-system background in pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems
Knowledge of live aircraft operations and support environments
Ability to work safely within demanding schedules while maintaining excellence in quality and service
