Lab Test Technical Designer
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Lab Test Technical Designer to support a leading aerospace innovator. In this hands-on, design-focused role, you’ll help shape the tools, systems, and test environments that ensure the performance, safety, and quality of next-generation commercial and military technologies.
As a Lab Test Technical Designer, you’ll contribute to engineering product definition, test system layouts, tooling support, and complex lab instrumentation. Your work will directly impact how advanced aerospace systems are built, validated, and improved. This role is ideal for someone with proven CAD/3D experience and a passion for technical problem-solving within a collaborative engineering environment.
• Participate on Integrated Product Teams to develop and integrate technical solutions
• Support Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) activities
• Coordinate closely with design, fabrication, and manufacturing teams
• Manage drafting requirements and implement design/drawing updates
• Develop, maintain, or modify systems, components, and installation designs to meet requirements
• Review mechanical and structural design requirements for assemblies and installations
• Ensure Configuration Management compliance prior to releasing lab test drawings
• Support lab test environments across various programs and platforms
• Investigate and resolve moderately complex engineering or manufacturing process issues
• Produce 2D/3D design deliverables using CAD and engineering design tools
• Contribute to instructions, tooling designs, technical documentation, and test development
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
• 2+ years of experience using engineering and design software (CAD/3D tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs including 2D drawings and 3D models
• AA degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Background in Test & Evaluation Engineering
• Self-starter with strong initiative and technical curiosity

• Pay Rate starting to: $35.13 per hour
